The seventh episode of Dragon Ball Daima, broadcast in Japan on November 22, 2024, gets both halves of the group moving again. On Earth, an unexpected ride arrives for Vegeta, Piccolo and Bulma; in the Demon Realm, the Supreme Kai frees Panzy from the collar that made her traceable and reveals his birth name. At the end, Goku stands before the first guardian of the Dragon Balls.

Summary

Bulma works out why the Supreme Kai's ship will not fly: its energy converter needs a mineral that does not exist on Earth but can be found in the Demon Realm. Just when catching up with Goku seems impossible, another ship appears over Kami's Lookout. Out steps Hybis, sent by King Kadan to pick them up. Kibito stays behind to guard the Lookout, while Bulma, Vegeta and Piccolo leave with him.

In the Third World, the Gendarmerie order Goku's group to land: they are still looking for the spiky-haired boy with the staff. Goku hides in the back, and when the officers search the ship he uses Instant Transmission to reappear behind Panzy and slip into the bushes. The officers, however, suspect that Panzy is the masked girl with the wasabi bomb and try to take her away. She fights back with a taser, a brawl breaks out, and a squadron of police ships badly damages the craft Kadan lent them. After downing almost all the aircraft, the group finds one intact and takes it.

Panzy vents her frustration: the magic collar every Third World resident must wear is what gave them away. The Supreme Kai realizes that it was most likely designed by his sister Arinsu back when Dabura ruled, and that as a fellow Glind he can remove it, which he does with a magic spell. Grateful, Panzy asks for his real name, and he answers Nahare. Goku tries it once, then decides he would rather keep calling him Supreme Kai.

They will need a new password for the Warp Lord, so Panzy asks Peral, back at the castle, to get one: he manages it in no time and reports that Goku's friends have reached the Third World. Goku does not want to wait. In a village he learns that the local guardian, Tamagami Number Three, once beat even Dabura. After a meal, Goku presents himself and challenges it for the Dragon Ball.

Our take

The collar is a small object that says a lot. It conveys the control the Demon Realm exerts over its people better than any speech, and it ties Arinsu to that system long before Gomah. The Supreme Kai breaking it is also the first time the god, so far a bit in the background, takes decisive action, and the name Nahare gives him a past.

The Earth section is short but necessary: Hybis, with his exuberant manner, brings a more comic tone to the second team, and kid Vegeta remains the most impatient of all. The search scene, with Goku teleporting right under the officers' noses, is well-built action comedy.
