Free Dragon Ball quiz: 10 questions on the series, characters, transformations, movies and manga, 15 seconds per answer and a final rank from Earthling to God of Destruction.

Ten questions, fifteen seconds each and one goal: prove how well you know the world Akira Toriyama created. The quiz draws from a pool of 120 questions checked by our editors, and at the end it gives you a rank, from humble Earthling all the way up to God of Destruction.

How to play

Press Start the quiz and pick one of the four answers. After each one you get a short explanation, so even a wrong answer teaches you something you can bring up in your next fan debate.

  • Computer: keys 1 to 4 (or A, B, C, D) to answer, Enter to move on to the next question. The mouse and the Tab key work too.
  • Phones and tablets: tap an answer, then the Next button.

Each round gets harder as it goes: the first three questions are easy, the middle four are medium and the last three are hard. The answer order is shuffled every time, and the game avoids repeating the questions you have just seen.

Scoring and ranks

A correct answer is worth 100 points if easy, 150 if medium and 200 if hard. On top of that you earn a speed bonus of up to 100 points: the more time left on the bar, the bigger the reward. If the timer runs out, the answer counts as wrong.

Depending on how many answers you get right, you earn one of eight ranks: Earthling, Master Roshi's Student, Z Fighter, Super Saiyan, Super Saiyan 3, Super Saiyan Blue, Ultra Instinct and, only with a perfect ten, God of Destruction. Your best score is saved on this device, and the Share button lets you challenge your friends: on a phone it opens the share menu, on a computer it copies the text to your clipboard.

What the questions cover

The questions span seven topics: the anime series, the characters, the transformations, the movies, the manga, the creators and behind-the-scenes trivia, from theme songs to the Japanese voice cast. They range from the basics, like how many Dragon Balls there are, to details only hardcore fans know, such as the exact number of manga chapters or what Vegeta's scouter really read in the original version.

Tips to rank up

  • Don't rush the hard questions: a smaller speed bonus is worth far more than a wrong answer.
  • Read the explanations: many questions are connected, and one answer may give you a hint in a later round.
  • Brush up on the basics. To refresh your memory, start with our page on the Dragon Ball series, which follows young Goku's adventures, and our guide to the Emperor Pilaf saga, where it all begins: meeting Bulma, the first Dragon Ball hunt and the most unexpected wish in the franchise.

Did you know? Vegeta's famous "over 9,000" line comes from the English dub: in the Japanese version, the scouter read "over 8,000".
