The fifteenth episode of Dragon Ball Daima, broadcast in Japan on January 24, 2025, ties up one of the threads left dangling since the start: what became of the Third Eye, the legendary artifact Gomah has dreamed of since the first episode? The answer was in plain sight all along, and a flashback explains how it got there. Meanwhile the group fights a pitched battle against Gomah's army.
Summary
As soon as the group touches down in the First World, the Gendarmerie attack on foot and by air. The heroes take cover behind rocks, surrounded on all sides: Goku is hit and dazed for a moment, then downs an aircraft with his Power Pole, but the soldiers keep coming. Vegeta goes down too, and Goku gets him back on his feet by making him swallow, reluctantly, one of the last healing bugs. Back at full strength, Vegeta, Goku, Piccolo, Panzy and Glorio push the officers back and force them to retreat.
From the palace, Gomah and Degesu watch the battle on a monitor and notice something: Hybis' belt buckle holds the Third Eye. A flashback tells its story. Worn on the forehead, the eye gave Supreme Demon Kings immense magical power, but it was lost during Abura's reign. It was his son Dabura who had a thief steal it; the thief, however, was killed by a ruffian on reaching the Third World. Without the eye, Abura was later defeated by Dabura, who took the throne with Gomah as his deputy. Years later Hybis, out hunting, found the eye and set it in his buckle because he liked it.
Gomah orders Degesu to retrieve it. As the group advances on the palace through the Oparu district, a beautiful demon woman in a large hat approaches Hybis and offers him a kiss in exchange for the eye. He refuses and asks for her hat instead. Slightly insulted, she agrees to the trade and walks off with the Third Eye, while nobody realizes what has just happened.
Goku, Vegeta and Piccolo take down many soldiers, until tanks roll in with firepower that troubles even them. The tide turns when King Kadan's force arrives from the sky, bombing the tanks and helping rout the last officers. Goku thanks the king, and the two share a smile. At the palace, Gomah cannot believe his eyes, while Degesu watches him suspiciously; elsewhere, Arinsu smiles: her plan is working.
Our take
The Third Eye shows how Daima plants and harvests. Bulma had noticed the eye on Hybis' belt back in episode 9, and attentive viewers were waiting for it; the flashback then adds a piece to Dabura's story, a mere servant of Babidi in the Majin Buu Saga who here becomes a son plotting against his father.
The swap between Hybis and the woman in the hat is a perfect gag: an object that could change the Demon Realm's fate, traded for a showy accessory by someone with no idea what he was wearing. The pitched battle, with tanks and bombing runs, gives the episode an almost war-movie scale, and Kadan's arrival neatly closes the Third World king's arc.
